Programming
Exploring and developing new, ambitious individual and joint programming initiatives, such as the Scottish Government’s Edinburgh Festivals Expo Fund: a £6m fund awarded to provide a high-profile platform for emerging and established Scottish-based talent to thrive at Edinburgh’s Festivals.
Partnerships with the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games and the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games
Creating and developing ambitious programming, marketing and diplomatic initiatives between Scotland, the UK and international regions, as the world’s largest sporting events and the world’s largest arts event take place in the same country at the same time.
Joint Marketing
Collectively promoting the Edinburgh Festivals to non-local markets via major campaigns; and increasing sales, awareness and brand reputation via longer-term strategic initiatives.
Environmental Sustainability
Working together to create a low carbon future through responsible management of the Festivals’ environmental impact
Innovation
Through new processes like crowdsourcing initiatives and indie developer events, and extensive networking with the digital and higher education sector, the Edinburgh Festivals aim to deliver innovative projects that drive growth, leadership, product development and audiences.
Sponsorship and Fundraising
A fundraising strategy tocombine strengths and attract overall or project-specific brand sponsorship and funding from new partners. New collaborative projects such as the Edinburgh Festivals Innovation Lab are part of a new and exciting portfolio.
Professional Development
Focussing on the people and systems involved in organising, planning and delivering our Festivals, through expert training, workshop events and knowledge sharing.
